Membership Structure

SDMIA offers a tiered membership structure designed to accommodate companies of all sizes, based on their industry role and employee count. Membership categories are divided into Producers, Non-Producers, and Vendors/Suppliers, with each category further segmented into three tiers to ensure an option that fits every organization.

SDMIA ADVOCATES for the mineral industry at the local, state, and federal levels. COLLABORATING with other state and national organizations to achieve shared goals. SDMIA is deeply committed to EDUCATION, participating in numerous events across the state and supporting educators in developing engaging earth science curricula for their classrooms.  SDMIA offers NETWORKING opportunities for members, fostering connections within the organization and on a global scale. To welcome and highlight new members, each is featured in the SPOTLIGHT section of our ‘Mineral Matters’ Newsletter. This monthly feature provides a platform for both new and existing members to showcase their company and share their story.
